It would be interesting to know who is handling "Organizing for America"
That's the new story about community building which Chris has no clue about. The campaign is over. That was the easy part.

Anya,

Where's the poop? Actually the poop can be recycled by drying it and making it into plant containers. Check out dirty jobs on tv where the farmer uses the gas to fuel a furnace that heats his barn.

It seems to me that non-profit boards are mostly there to bring in money. For profit boards exist to make sure that management is doing its job for the shareholders, as least in theory. The real story is not the boards but the ability of the stakeholders to influence organizations so that management and the boards are performing and not just feathering their nests.

BO did what he had to do to beat McCain soundly. What he did had already been done before by Howard Dean. You are right nothing has changed, but new people have entered the process and I think that you will find that change will evolve. Remember that 48% couldn't figure it out the "new stuff", otherwise they would have voted for him. But given what was spent to do what he did accomplish, you can image what it will take and how long it will take to build the kind of government by and for the people that we really need.

Wait a second. Hasn't the market dropped 15% since Oct. 6th. And didn't he say if you needed the money in the next 5 years? Some people don't have the luxury of waiting 5 more years for the market to go back up 30%. Buffet says buy, Jim says sell. That's what makes a market.

Making money in investments is about taking risks. Timing is everything. The difficulty with taking risks with stocks and that you are giving money to people who have made bad decisions supported by a government that has made bad decisions. So the big question is: will the people at the top that govern our tax dollars and our investments continue to make bad decisions on our behalf? If the answer is yes, then if have to rely on your own ability to make good investment decisions in real estate or in small business.

Fast Talk Response -

You might want to note that Europe is totally bypassing hybrids in favor of electric and their biggest energy resource is coal. There is no getting rid of coal but at least we can reduce our dependence on it. Think of all the resources that small electric cars will save. They all add up to a cleaner environment and a smaller cost to the consumer.
