Fast Talk Response -

It's fair game. It shouldn't be the soul basis of your decision making, just another tool to be used thoughtfully.

People should pay attention to their personal brand. If someone "googles well", meaning the search results are consistent with the person before you, that's a good sign. If someone "googles poorly" meaning inconsistent, or as Ricky Ricardo would say, "Has some 'esplaining' to do", that's okay too. It's how they respond that makes the difference.

Now wire tapping, THAT would be a blantant invasion of privacy.

Comment on Node ant

Kevin,

I think it frequently boils down to communication. When you are forced to slow down, learn about each others needs and allow yourself to be vulnerable, people quickly find common ground. Unfortunately, old habits are hard to replace. When we get busy and frantic the last thing we do is call a time out and regroup. It's counter intuitive, yet exactly what we need to do.

Need Help? Be Specific.

When I was working at a Fortune 500 company, my division was internally merging with a culturally different organization. It was essentially the Gen X crowd versus the Baby Boomer generation. One side would list major accomplishments as; their wedding day, the birth of a child, or a trip abroad they had saved up for. The other; President's Club, numbers they hit, problems they solved. Two different worlds - united in the fact that we all very much disliked our new boss.

Followers Talk, Leaders Act

It is easy to talk about leadership. It has become a subject of study. Books have been written, seminars conducted, presentations videotaped, lectures recorded and podcast. There are no shortages of quotes on effective leadership.
