Fast Talk Response -

Eventhough noone ever wants to be laid off I think one way to help employees that are being laid off besides the obvious of better severance packages is to give them some notice. When an employee leaves the company they try to give 2 weeks notice as a courtesy so the company can begin to fill their position. Why can employers not give that same courtesy?

Fast Talk Response -

I think in today's society branding is more important then ever. Every industry is flooded with competitors and you need to have branding in order to create that niche for yourself so consumers will chose you over your competitor. Steven is completely right when he says that even YOU are a brand. Everytime someone meets you there is a very good posibility that afterwars they will google you to find out more information. You need to establish yourself as a brand because in many avenues of your life both business and personal you are trying to sell yourself.

I think its fair game. Its not any different from calling old employers and references. Everyone at one point or another has Googled someone they know or met to see what comes up. I try to Google myself on a monthly basis to see what comes up.

Fast Talk Response -

I find that Facebook can be used as both, its all up to the user. I don't do much more then use it to see what friends are up to that I have not had time to communicate with. I know many people who use Facebook as their main form of communicating with friends. They create events or messages on Facebook expecting that everyone else will use it to communicate back with them.

Fast Talk Response -

I think that companies should switch over to PTO (Paid Time Off) time instead of having vacation and sick days. This way the employee can chose to use their set number of days for whatever they chose.

I think repair men need to work later hours or weekends so people who have jobs do not need to use vacation in order to get something serviced at their home.

Charisma, confidence, speaks well, and is able to motivate are all signs of a possible leader. The one main attribute that belongs to a real leader is humility. The ability to say and know that he is only as strong as the people he is leading. A real leader takes all of the responsibility and none of the credit. Many people can lead but real leaders are hard to find.

I believe that enviroment is ONE key to improved productivity. Obviously employees are not going to give up their bonuses for nicer offices. (I need money to put into my own apartment)Me personally I find that certain enviroments for me make it harder to be creative. Working in the marketing department I come up with better ideas while driving home than sitting in my cubicle. Sometimes employees need to be inspired especially departments that have to be more creative.

I think used in the right way social networking can make you more social. I find it works better for connecting with old friends then actually making new contacts. I still find it easier to keep communication with a large group of people without a large time constraint. In this busy world most people dont have time to personally see everyone they know. People must remember though that a physical interaction with people is still needed and a post on someones wall is not the same as a visit.
