In some Ning nets, the creator invited the majority of the members. When subsequent users bring in new members of their own, new clusters form to reflect the viral chain.
Each white dot represents one member of a specific social network on Ning. Each starburst defines the extent and pattern of that member's invitations to new users to networks across the platform.
This viral effect means each Ning member is equal to two new users, compounded daily. That's how Ning has grown from 60,000 networks last June to 230,000 today.

I run five or six networks and cannot say enough good things about Ning. Whether it's for business or personal, this social network software just does its job. My hobby websites are a good example - for RC glider and RC sailplane enthusiasts, they pretty much run themselves. We also use it in business for job search focused social networking.

Ning is absolutely revolutionary. I was laid off last year. Without Medical insurance I was scrambling to make money to pay for COBRA. I created a Ning site to sell some wood carvings that I do on the side. The site took off and now I do this full time. It was very easy to setup and market. What a great tool for a great price...FREE!
