To paraphrase JFK: The right idea has a thousand fathers, the wrong ones are orphans. Not so at Mekanism. The company has a diverse crew of creative artists on staff and also in its freelance collective and they understand it takes a village worth of pitching to raise one idea. Mekanism employs documentary and avant-garde filmmakers, stop-motion and digital animators, as well as straight video directors. The mix generates a broad spectrum of approaches and creates something of an idea commune that refuses to be categorized. Here is a video mash-up of some of the concept inventions that surfaced, but eventually drowned, in the quest to arrive at a viral campaign for Fast Company.
