There were a couple of pieces in this issue that really got my wheels turning. Here are some of the questions that popped in to my head as I read:
Mind Games (p. 168) FC article
* When companies design special 'play rooms' that are totally different from the rest of their work spaces, do those facilities really foster ongoing, sustainable creativity?
* In my work space, what design elements have I incorporated to encourage play and creativity? Is my office a fun place to be? How can I make it more fun?
* What do job titles mean? Should they convey meaning, as in what I do rolewise? Or should they be badges of honor and mystery-of fun? What might be a better title for me? What does that new title do for me? How does it describe or help me?
* What habits and rituals do I-and does my company-have to encourage fun and creativity? Do people take them seriously? For granted? What's the most important ritual in my work life?
* If I could take a radical sabbatical, what would I do? Where would I go? What would I want to do and learn? How would that help my work?
* Do I play well with others?
* When was the last time I really had fun at work? What was I doing? How was I approaching my work? With whom was I working?
It's Your Choice (p. 200) FC article
It's a survey. That means that the whole thing is a question. But the bigger question is one I caught myself asking after I answered each survey question for myself: Why?
New Math for a New Economy (p. 214) FC article
* Are knowledge-based companies overvalued on the stock market?
* Are companies paying too much to acquire knowledge-based assets?
* What are intangible assets? Do Lev's four categories cover everything?
* What creates more value-intangible or tangible assets?
* Which are more useful: intangible or tangible assets?
* Can intangible assets be 'rival assets'?
* How can we change the current accounting system? Does it need to be changed? How can we overcome the challenges Lev discusses? What has he missed?
