Fast Company Book Club Meetup
Looking for an easy way to meet other Fast Company readers and Company of Friends members where you live and work? The newly launched Fast Company Book Club Meetup might be a good way to gather with other like-minded business leaders for a focused discussion. Meetup is a free service that organizes local gatherings in more than 600 cities across 45 countries.
Using this month's Readers' Choice Award winner, Gray Matters: The Workplace Survival Guide by Bob Rosner, Allan Halcrow, and John Lavin, as a starting point, join the face-to-face -- and online -- discussion about office politics, teamwork, change management, and leadership.
We've even developed some helpful guidelines for people interested in organizing book discussions within their CoF groups, teams, and companies. Join the discussion!
Upcoming CoF Events
Every month, members and groups of the Company of Friends gather online and in person for discussions, workshops, and other events.
This month, starting Dec. 1, Fast Company will welcome Bob Rosner, co-author of Gray Matters, which received the December Readers' Choice Award, as a contributor to FC Now, our staff blog.
To help you learn more about -- and get involved in -- the best and brightest CoF events organized by members and groups every month, Fast Company offers a global, public calendar.
This network-at-a-glance calendar is accessible by non-members, as well as by CoF members. Use the global calendar as you travel on business. Share it with friends who don't belong to the network.
CoF gatherings are a great way to meet other FC readers and forward-thinking business leaders and innovators in your area. We hope to see you at a CoF event soon!
New CoF Gear
Just in time for Christmas, Fast Company now offers a wide range of CoF-related gear -- including shirts, coffee mugs, lunch boxes, and tote bags. Whether you use them at work or at CoF events, CoF gear is a good way to catalyze conversation and meet other Fast Company readers.
CoF ToolBook Now Online
Several years ago, Fast Company organized Community at Work, the first CoF leadership summit. Long out of print, the CoF ToolBook, a handbook produced expressly for that event, is now available online -- for free.
The downloadable PDF features expanded, original interviews with some of the event's discussion leaders, models, and mentors; as well as first-person success stories and strategies from CoF members and groups around the world -- the front lines of the readers' network.
Po Bronson Keeps Walking
Enter the Johnnie Walker Keep Walking contest.
Inspired by Po Bronson, author of What Should I Do with My Life, Johnnie Walker and Fast Company have teamed up to reward those who take their dreams head on and turn them into reality.
Write about an epiphany you have had that led to overcoming adversity -- or the point when your hard-fought journey turned to success. Submit your story by Dec. 23 -- the deadline is fast approaching -- and enter to win.
One contestant will win the grand prize, a trip to Kilmarnock, Scotland, for a tour of the distillery where Johnnie Walker, the world's finest scotch, was born -- plus a profile of their story in Fast Company.
