A Long, Strange Trip

Andy Lawrence

If you've spent any time on Fast Company's Web discussion boards, you probably know the name Andy Lawrence. He's one of our most prolific participants. The founder of Pinnacle Resources, a leadership-coaching firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Andy loves traveling to interact with his clients. He also loves to interact with the Fast Company community.

Recently he decided to combine his passions. He transformed his annual trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico into a long, strange Fast Company road trip. It began in July, when Andy set out for Santa Fe with a vow to meet along the way some of the virtual friends and colleagues he's met on the Web. His trip included stops in Montgomery, Alabama, where he spent time with frequent-Web-poster Keith Baker, and Boulder, Colorado, where he sat in on a folk-guitar performance given by fellow-poster John Coyle. 'I wanted to meet some like-minded people and exchange ideas,' Andy says.
