Chase Wegmann

I agree with Michael. While Microsoft and Yahoo figure out their next dance steps Google will continuing to offer superior (and free) ASP office-like enterprise applications, along with the usual portal ware like email, IM, photo storage and now with their acquisition of Grand Central a phone number forwarding system and voicemail outside of their GoogleTalk application. They're leaps and bounds ahead of any competition.

| posted by Kin Lane

I have been working with my brother-in-law to really escalate the operations of his small business Thinwrench, which offers custom wrench and tool manufacturing. He has had the business since the 1990's and has had the site since I believe 2001.

Participate in Question and Answer Sites to Market Yourself

| posted by Kin Lane

I go through spurts where I monitor and participate on Question and
Answer web sites. Usually I monitor Yahoo Answers & LinkedIn
Answers via RSS feeds.

I gather a lot of information and knowledge this way and keep organized using tags in Google Reader and Google Notebook.

I also participate and give my answer or feedback on questions from time to time.

I haven't been doing this for a couple months now, but I did actively participate for months at a time.

I recently got the following email off LinkedIn:

Dental Records Filing made EZ

| posted by Jeffrey Olchovy

As the number of legalities surrounding the health care industry
increase, dentists and other health service providers often find it
hard to keep their office free of clutter and paper-file storage. In
order to maintain an efficient and well-functioning practice, patient
dental records and all similar documentation needs to be easily

Four Steps To Telling Great Stories

| posted by Bud Bilanich

Today is Thursday, so this post is on dynamic communication.

Dynamic communicators are good story tellers.  Everyone likes a story.  Stories are hard wired into our brains.  They come from the oral traditions of most cultures.  They were the way people learned prior to the written word.  Stories are powerful because they help us grasp important concepts.

I like what the author has to say in this article, though the new terminology makes me a bit hesitant to articulate it out loud. The need for human relationships is the very core of the human condition and alienation from human relationships is often where we fail (think Cain & Abel).

How Much Money is Poor Morale Costing Your Company?

| posted by Shaun Kirk

As a business owner I’ve had staff come and go over the years. Some have done extremely well and others not so well. During the time I was directly involved in running my business I found some weaknesses in myself that tremendously affected things that were going on. It was not uncommon for me, whenever something was not going well, to ignore it.

Over the years I have dealt with all types and sizes of businesses.  I have seen all types and sizes of problems as well as quite a variety of solutions that emerge to resolve them. Throughout my experiences in consulting various companies and working to unravel the difficulties they sometimes encounter a very basic common denominator is always present.

Where to advertise

| posted by Larry Mersereau

I just spoke to a group of motorcycle dealers, and the number one question on their minds was "Where should I be investing my advertising dollars?"

The first question you have to answer is: "Who do I want to talk to?" Most small brick-and-mortar merchants like the group of dealers just kind of throw their advertising out to the whole public. They hope that the relative few real prospects out there will see it. When you do that, you pay for a lot of overflow advertising - dollars spent talking to people who will never buy from you.
