That depends on how well Facebook can maintain a clear interface. Facebook has a reputation for a clean, easy-to-navigate interface, but it is rapidly becoming more cluttered with all of the additional applications being added daily. But, for all of the money MySpace has, they still haven't issued a decently designed interface. Every page looks junky.

Facebook just announce some changes are in store for profile pages http://www.insidefacebook.com/2008/05/07/breaking-facebook-profile-redes.... Granted, as Rachel points out, the site had maintained a clean interface that separated it from MySpace. Though as more applications became available and the feed rolled out, pages became cluttered and clunky. Though full details on the new spec are not yet available, if FB ends up catering more to its application developers than its users it just may lose loads of its early adopters.

It appears that the two almost target different age groups? My Space = younger and Face book = more mature. Just my perspective.

It seems to me that Myspace is becoming a Facebook clone. With Myspace recently adding its first application, and claiming there are much more to come, Facebook seems to be one step ahead of Myspace.

No!

I think it already is -- save for choosing background colors and music. But the old Facebook -- focused communities, simple aesthetic, non-commmercial environment -- is gone.

I agree Rachel King! They're as bad as each other and both excellent examples of information overload which, in time, will be superceeded by a newer model anyway. Why people need and rely on these time efficient, messy sites is beyond me.

I have not tried out either. Apparently MySpace is big with the kids?

Everyone I know is on Facebook. I don't have any friends with My Space pages. They are all friends from college and that is where Facebook started, it existed just for students. I believe it has a higher demographic than My Space as we are all 30+ years old.

Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the comments here. Facebook was once a refreshing take on the social network app. It is now quickly becoming a My Space clone and I hate it. Someone needs to come up with social networking for adults......google???

True, but once Facebook opened up to 3rd party apps, it got very cluttered.
