Above all, put yourself in your audience. This is a skill which requires some practice but is well worth the effort. Presentation is a two way street- you must be interacting with your audience not just presenting to them.

Being confident, being at ease, being prepared and being clear are ways of being that can cause something far more profound than just the action of presenting data and information. These ways of being can cause you to lead powerful conversations that enroll and captivate your audiences and spur them into action.

But ways of being (or the ontology of human nature) and how they impact how we show up in life is not something we really look at in our society. It was through a transformational organization that I was first introduced to the fascinating field called "the ontology of human nature" or "the study of human beings."

All I learned in 3 days and an evening about myself and about leadership, responsibility, accountability, integrity and how to stand in front of a room far exceeded all I learned in 3 years pursuing my MBA degree.

An excellent source and resource for transforming your presentation skills is the Landmark Forum. Produced by Landmark Education, they're on the web at www.landmarkeducation.com

You may also benefit from the services of an Ontological Coach, as I am.
