I think emulation is anathema to innovation. It cries out "Don't think just copy!"
I am amused at the thought that perhaps the person who asked the question is a troubled Microsoft employee. :)

Well, if you're talking about it's culture, yes.
If you're talking about its methodology, no.

Google has some of the brightest minds working toward a common goal. The group is creative and they break conventional rules. Once you emulate them, you're no longer breaking rules--just cloning. As a marketing professional, I almost always pass on a project that promotes itself as the next Google. They should be the next _______ new and untried idea that has not been done and its innovation should break the rules..
