The volume and complexity of business, recreational and malicious network traffic is driving the demand for a new generation of “content-aware devices and networks”. In the race to deliver differentiated products to market, network equipment manufacturers (i.e. Cisco, Juniper, et al) need a content-aware network equipment testing system to help them demonstrate superior performance, reliability and security.

Legacy test products simply have not kept up with the pace of innovation and are not architected to deliver authentic application traffic at line speeds. BreakingPoint is reinventing the nascent network test industry by unveiling the industry’s only tool to test the new generation of ‘content-aware’ network devices. The company, founded by network engineers who had lived with these problems, set out to provide the essential components for testing content-aware devices—truly authentic converged business, recreational, and malicious application traffic at 10 Gigabits per second and faster speeds.

BreakingPoint is now the only test equipment that effectively tests security coverage and performance for the next generation of content-aware network devices.

In only the past six months BreakingPoint has seen some exciting results! Financially, the company has realized a 106% increase in revenue and a 150% increase in new customers. Even more exciting is that the company has had the opportunity to grow headcount by 28% in that same time frame. Additionally the company has raised $28M in funding since September of 2005.
