2008 Summer Olympic Games

Controversial from the day it was announced, Beijing will be hosting the Summer Olympics, with the Opening Ceremony on 8-8-08. Despite a tour of protests following the Olympic flame earlier this year, Chinese businesses hope the Games will bring in foreign investors. In each of the past four Olympic host countries, the benchmark indices gained in the year after the games as well.
