Let's kick things off with a big, messy question: what makes for a great business blog?

There's a lot of well-intentioned advice out there about blogging, but almost none of it is for business blogs.

  • What makes a business blog successful?
  • What makes people even want to read a business blog?
  • Any great (or terrible) examples?

Great question Michael, the seven components I find that are consistent across great blogs are:

• Design
• Content
• Smart and Genuine Relationships
• Focus
• (Useful) Expertise or otherwise interesting content or writing
• Great writing
• Usability and user experience
