What do you think of the new marketing campaign announced last week by the Dayton Development Coalition:  "Get Midwest" (for external audiences) and "Be Midwest" (for local audiences)?

I thought the slogan was non descriptive concerning Dayton.I would not be able to discern from Get Midwest that it was advertisement for Dayton if I were not living here..lol

Found a write up on DDN's website on it. http://www.daytondailynews.com/b/content/oh/story/business/2008/02/10/dd...
Found my thoughts echoing Richards comment. Simply stating Get/Be/Think Midwest doesn't strike a chord in me. I don't generaly categorize things in that way. It's somehow implies that only folks that are from the midwest engender these traits. Was not able to find related information the DaytonRegion.com website. The news and information there is a bit dated and in some cases incomplete. Is the coalition be hosted on a different site? If so, the old one needs to come down or at least redirect to an active site. Doesn't say a whole lot for support of the branding efforts when the web site is defunct.
