We have a mayoral election coming up and we here talk of crime and commuting, wouldn't it be good to hear some big new idea for this big, beautiful city. Given the small mindedness of national politics, it feels like time for a city to take a lead. I'd like to propose we stick a wind turbine on every windmill hill (and anywhere else suitable) and take this city green, celebrate in in a festival of natural energy and talent and turn Battersea into an international innovation centre. Ken, Boris, Sian, Brian, what do you think?

The cycling intiative mentioned in today's Guardian

seems to go some way to endorsing your sentiment. Personally, I believe cycling can deal with two issues at once: green transport (obviously); but also the need for regular exercise as part of a 'healthy lifestyle'.

Green is good and we need to really push the agenda for sustainable business climate forward. The world will see a $250 barrel crude oil prices in the next 10 years and that can really unsettle the world. So time to reinvent the world has come. We have to work within a global framework. It is no longer EU verses Asia or America. We have to work together for our wellbeing and prosperity.
