I am currently the medical director of a small company with only 3 staff. (www.LifeResus.com) We distribute pre-hospital emergency medical equipment for the paramedical and public. Our main emphasis is to improve the survival rates of sudden cardiac arrests, so our main product is the automated external defibrillator (AED). Even though the corporates and government agencies acquire these devices, the majority cardiac arrest cases occur in the homes of our population. There has not been any concerted effort by any agency to address this problem, so what my company of 3 is doing is to launch a ground-up volunteer effort to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation with the AED to residents in times of need. The overview can be view at www.firstaidcorps.org. We are launching our first project, the first in SouthEast Asia, on 24th Feb 2008. We just started a group in Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19835782064 to allow volunteers, sponsors and the public to interact.
