hard to find freelance drupaler

Posted by Robert Bass on June 03, 2008 at 8:16 am

here in berlin people are starting to find out about drupal and we have more customers than we can handle, but it's hard to find freelance drupaler to take some of the work off our hands.

what's it like in your neck of the woods?

This is a problem across the Drupal community, really. One of the best approaches we've found is to explore the directory of modules on drupal.org, finding stuff that you're using on your sites and have good experiences with. Check out the authors/maintainers, drop them a line to see if they're available for freelance work. That kind of approach finds folks that are already vetted, to some extent, and gives you a chance to see how they interact and respond to feedback/issues/etc in the community.

It's not perfect, but we've found that works much better than just hunting around jobs sites for Drupal devs -- that tends ti find a much larger percentage of 'unknown quantities' and is a bit more stressful when a big project is on the line.
