Seniors Asked To Give Up Personal Info For Medicare Supplements

As an independent insurance agency, we work hard to find qualified prospects.  As you know, many people today turn to the internet for information, so we have taken part in several internet lead programs.  One thing has become very clear:  many people give up a lot of personal information under the impression that they are sending it to one agency or company.  In fact they are sending it to a lead company who is then selling that information to the highest set of bidders for that particular lead program.

When we purchase medicare supplement insurance leads and contact the person who filled out the form, one of the most common statements is "I wish I hadn't done that, I am being bombarded with calls and email."  So I thought we should put together a short list of tips for seniors who want to use the web to research and maybe even purchase their medicare supplement policy.

  1. Make sure you are sending your information to an agency or company - not a leads clearing house.  One of the best ways to make sure is to look for text telling you that "one of our agents partners" will contact you.  This is a sign of them selling your information.
  2. Look for a prominent phone number, call them, and ask if your information will be sold to other agents.  If so, don't use them.
  3. Use a local independent agency that has a good reputation.  Evern though websites will tell you they can get you the "best" price, good local agents represent the same companies at the same price.  And if you have a question or need help, they are right there ready to help.

If you have any other questions or need help finding the right medicare coverage we would love to help.  We never share your information with anyone and we represent every top rated company in the medicare supplement market.
