The redesigned 2010 Subaru Legacy available at Paul Moak Subaru in Jackson, MS is turning heads with its new body style, safety ratings, and price.  The four-door sedan is available at Paul Moak Subaru in downtown Jackson, MS.

A recent automotive review in USA Today touted the 2010 Subaru Legacy as “close to a bull’s eye.”  Automotive editor James R. Healey writes “In fact, almost everything about the thoroughly remade 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan is impressive. It's as if Subaru went through a list of consumer gripes over the years and tried to address them all – much as Subie did in the remake of the 2010 Outback utility wagon.” The full article may be accessed by clicking HERE.

According to Healey, upgrades available on the 2010 Subaru Legacy as compared to the 2009 model include:

•Better-looking. More mainstream, less quirky. Some might argue that it lacks its previous personality. But the new persona is an improvement. More tailored, modest fender bulges for accent. A design that, spied across a parking lot, provokes, "Good-looking car; nice job."

•Cheaper, in the good sense. Lower-level versions are $800 less than the similar 2009 models. The six-cylinder versions are $1,600 to $3,900 less.

•More powerful, mostly. Base engine has the same 170 horsepower, 170 pounds-feet of torque. But the '10 turbo is 265 hp and 258 lbs.-ft., up from 243/241 in '09. And the six-cylinder is 256/247, up from 245/215.

Most models get better fuel-economy ratings, and the six now runs fine on regular. Last year, Subie specified premium.

•Bigger, inside where it counts. Outside, as with the Outback, the new one is just an inch longer and a couple of inches wider than the old one. Legacy's wheelbase is 3 inches longer this year, nearly all of it dedicated to rear-seat legroom. That, in turn, makes Legacy, finally, a car for adults in back as well as in front. Some larger cars tested lately have had less people room.

In November 2009, Consumer Reports said of the new 2010 Subaru Legacy “With its redesign, the Legacy goes from a decent but small family sedan to one in the top of its class.”

The 2010 Subaru Legacy not only looks great, it will also protect its passengers in the event of a crash.  The IIHS recently named the 2010 Subaru Legacy as a “top safety pick” for the midsize car segment.  The Top Safety Picks awarded by the IIHS are based upon crashworthiness — how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash.    The 2010 Legacy received the highest rating possible for its performance in high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, plus evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. can learn more about the 2010 IIHS Top Safety Picks online at http://www.iihs.org/ratings/default.aspx or by contacting Paul Moak Subaru for additional information on its award-winning models.

According to John Scarbrough, General Manager at Paul Moak Subaru, “Subaru continues to excel by meeting the practical and economical needs of consumers, while offering versatility, value and reliability like no other automaker can.  The Legacy’s new design combines a great looking 4-door AWD sedan with incredible fuel efficiency you wouldn’t expect for a vehicle of its size.”
