Toyota Corolla XLE Function

A rear-facing child safety seat fit well in the center position
even with the driver seat at its rearmost position. Move the seat
directly behind that driver seat, though, and it won't fit. There's
also not quite enough room in that scenario with the seat facing
forward. A shorter driver shouldn't have a problem, though. Our
mother-of-four consumer tester declared the Corolla to be the best
choice (among the Civic and Mazda Mazda3) for installing a child seat.

smart fortwo Passion: Design/Fit and Finish

The funky cabin gets some of its personality from the cloth
covering on the lower dash, which matches the seats — a bright orange
in our test car's case. Build quality is quite good; you'd expect the
old door-shut test to reveal a tinny quality, yet they close with a
solid thunk.

2009 Kia Borrego V8 4WD: Performance

Perhaps one of the Borrego's most convincing attributes is its
towing capability. Our four-wheel-drive V8 model is rated at a
class-leading 7,500 pounds. And unlike some manufacturers who test
their models stripped down in order to get more appealing numbers with
less weight, we're told the Borrego's towing capacity already takes
into account at least a driver and passenger (although maybe not a full
passenger compartment).

BMW X6 xDrive 35i

Comfort

With rearward visibility only slightly better than a Lamborghini
Murciélago, the X6 would be a nightmare to park were it not for the
standard front and rear sonar park assist and our tester's optional
rearview camera. Those features go a long way toward reducing anxiety
while backing up the big Bimmer. An auto-dimming mirror is optional.
