A Barrio Christmas

If you're a parent, teacher or caring adult hoping to affect the hopes and dreams of their youth this holiday season (and steer clear of Wii, IPods and any other type of technology), "From the Barrio to the Board Room" should be at the top of the holiday gift giving list.

You’ve heard my story. It is the story of thousands of Latino and ethnic kids who have become entangled in barrio and ghetto life, typically told that they'll always live a life of gang violence and drugs. Although living in the midst of gang violence where drugs were common, I escaped the fate that befell many of my so-called friends. I am now a successful author and businessman, and my mission is to change lives and work to break this vicious cycle of poverty and violence.
