Where Do You Think?

I’m 56,000 words into writing a new book and I need some help. The book is about ideas and I have a simple question to ask. The question is: Where and when do you do your best thinking? I’m after is a sentence, although if you’d like to go totally mad and write more (or show me) I’d be more than happy. BTW, it would really help if you give an indication of whether you are male/female, what you do for a living and how old you are (roughly). Of course, you are probably wondering where and when I do my best thinking? The answer is looking out of windows, especially on long-haul flights…

Richard - funny the picture reminded me of why I like to travel...I am a 33 year old male that runs the pre-sales and analytics team, plus some marketing responsibilities. I find I do my best thinking in the plane on long haul flights, and also in large open conference rooms with lots of white boards.

Good luck on your book.

My best thinking is done standing in front of a white board. The ability to move and gesture and sketch all seem to help my thinking.

My best thinking is done standing in front of a white board. The ability to move and gesture and sketch all seem to help my thinking. I'm a male about to turn 55 and have worked for years as a program manager which usually means only the hard problems as the easy ones got solved already by the team. Interaction between knowledgible teammates also greatly helps the creative process. I have no monopoly on good ideas.
