Tri-Cities, Washington teen authors, The Beatty Boys, have found themselves in an enviable position just a couple of months after releasing their very first book: they are best-selling authors.
Sales of "Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks" took off after 16-year-old David Beatty called nationally-syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh to inquire about the cost of advertising the book. Instead, Limbaugh put the teen on the air and urged his listeners to buy the book. The book peaked at number two on the list of best-selling books on Amazon.com. The book has sold out and has gone back to print several times. Some of the proceeds from "Pulling Weeds" will be used to benefit the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, in honor of the boys' grandfather.
Heeding their parents' advice, David, Devin and Deric Beatty have spent their childhood and adolescent years pulling weeds for extra cash, preparing and presenting marketing strategies, picking stocks and investing in their future. "Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks" includes their easy-to-follow tips for being rich at fifteen, thirteen and seven, such as budget worksheets, work ethics, asset liability evaluation, and tithing.
According to the publisher, readers of any age can follow these practical guidelines to "make cents of the change in life."
The book is available at any bookstore nationwide or can be ordered through barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, target.com or directly from the publisher at http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore . Audio versions of the book are also available.
Authors David, Devin and Deric Beatty reside in West Richland, Washington. The book draws from years of listening to their parents and watching them help families strengthen their foundations and finances. For more information, please visit http://www.tatepublishing.com
