The third annual Walk for Babies event will help Akron Children’s Hospital purchase equipment and  fund programs for the children in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care.  When newborns are critically ill or premature, they need the intensive care provided by a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, such as the one at Akron Children's Hospital. Each year, Akron Children's specially equipped ambulance and pediatric transport team transfer about 600 newborns in northeast Ohio to the hospital's Level III NICU.

According to a spokesperson for ABC MotorCredit, “We are always happy to help the people and businesses of Ohio and give back to our community.  This event is especially dear to our hearts because the money raised helps save the lives of newborns who need life-saving medical attention.  We applaud the Akron Children’s Hospital for the critical care they administer for these babies.”
