I've been an technology educator all my life. Its not surprising that my mother, father, and even my Grandfather were technology educators. My grandfather sat me down with my first Apple at the age of 6 and I was hooked. I was online by the age of 8, tinkering with BBS and simple game applications. When the visual web sprung up, it revived my interest and passion using computers for communication, teaching, and learning. More recently, I dove into the world of blogging and now maintain three blogs. Each blog allows me to connect with different audiences, to tell my story, and to generally say whats on my mind. The freedom is pretty intoxicating, to be honest.
I dig learning about digital communication, Wikinomics, communities, Crowdsourcing, citizen journalism, Christian living, and the rise of enterprise 2.0. How weird is that? (I also like a funny cat picture as much as the next guy...) But its certainly a challenge.
When I started I was awash in 100s of RSS feeds and it was all a mystery. It took time to establish credibility and hone my skills of writing and designing my own web space.
I'm still daily working to improve my skills across the board. To that end, I help or rather consult with other businesses and help them create social media strategies and business blogs in help maximize their audience via search engine optimization. Thats my niche, I'm an ethical search engine optimization specialist. I like to think that I'm an online relationship builder. I've taken my offline talents in communication and collaboration, and added technology to the mix.
Thats me. I'm from the Music City, and like many I enjoy live music whether it be country or alternative rock. So that means I'm a social media geek, musical afficionado, and Nashville SEO.
