The change leader of tomorrow will not be a left brained technologist, but they will understand the implications of technology. The change leader of tomorrow will not be a touchy-feely HR person, but they will understand the implications of human behavior. The change leader of tomorrow will act more like a savvy guide rather than a prescriptive “I know what you need” salesperson. The change leader of tomorrow will be an anthropologist seeking to understand peoples’ values, needs, and desires, not an archeologist investigating the relics of the past and digging for insights into what was. The change leader of tomorrow will move beyond assessing gaps and managing resistance and move towards engaging others to explore meaningful and innovative solutions. The change leader of tomorrow will not be ‘command and control’ like, but will understand how to guide collaboration and extract insights to design changes.
