When one thinks of luxury, a few thoughts might come to mind. The Four Seasons, perhaps. Mario Batali’s Babbo Restaurant in New York City. The Bentley. Private jetting across the Atlantic. However, to participate in these amenities of fame and fortune, the uber-elite and ultra-famous typically turn to concierge services to take care of their reservations and pass them the papers to sign off.
Concierge services used to only be for those individuals. Then, MDM Concierge (mdmconcierge.com), a sister company of the entertainment agency MDM, rolled its Phantom windows down (or rather pressed a button—or do those cars have motion sensors for window control?) and they found a new clientele amongst entertainment industry professionals, many of which MDM Agency worked with as part of its clientele already.
Petra Malmsten, one of the founders of both MDM Agency and MDM Concierge, states, “Part of our company has always been about being a concierge service, even before we officially launched it. We’d arrange travel for our clients, make premiere restaurant reservations, take care of their VIP nightlife requirements, coordinate their grocery shopping and bill pay, [and] the works. And [then] one day, we decided to expand with a concierge service targeted primarily to behind-the-scenes professionals in the entertainment industry, and it’s been pip-pip-cheerio from there.”
MDM’s concierge service makes the unaffordable affordable… at least for the 80K+ professional looking for full-time personal assistance. How do they do this? By making their clients back what they pay them through their premium quote research program and via, what they call, “our rolodex of coupons.” By snagging discounts everywhere their clients don’t have time to shop, MDM concierges basically pay for themselves. Now, if that’s not a genius concept, I don’t know what is.
MDM also offers corporate memberships to companies seeking to add some perks to their bonus packages. “Nothing boosts employee moral” says Ariam Sahle, director of corporate sales at MDM, “than providing them with a means to make their lives easier, more convenient, and more fun.” MDM has a system to which Ariam refers to as a “super-awesome time machine” that allows their clients to get back their spare time and enjoy their lives.
With an online portal for their clients to conveniently organize their concierge’s tasks and 24-hour customer service for their premium membership, MDM helps put the “I” in “VIP” as one of their many warm slogans promises.
