So I always look at what's up in my life and the conversations of the week.
The topic of being authentic is what is up. For me it shows up in the question- no matter where I am and whom I am with, can I be me? Can I be me with my fears and doubts as well as my competencies? Can I show up powerfully at a networking meeting with my drum in order to shift the energy of the meeting and have no concern about what others may think- knowing if I am enjoying and being authentic, it will resonate with others. Can I be in "I don't know"? Can I be willing to not know who I am?
It came up with a woman I met with this week who is about to embark on another journey in life and could feel and see the difference when she was in her "sweet spot"- her authentic self and then shift towards talking about business. We had a wonderful conversation about the possibilities if she were able to stay in that authentic state and lead business. She asked me if I would use her service and I said yes- if she brought who I saw to the table.
It came up with a client tonight- who is learning to be more conscious and authentic. She could see what a difference she may make at team meetings if she began to be more intentional about showing up in that authentic state. We spoke of the new form of leading and what a rich exchange it was for both of us on calls and in class- no one knows more or is better; it is about giving and receiving; it is about being in "I don't know" and being open to the possibilities.
What a perfect time to explore being authentic!
Until next time,
Lynn
