Pontiac G8 V6 Performance
Both V6 and V8 versions of the 2008 Pontiac G8 have the same sporty
but smooth FE2 suspension tuning — one more reason you won't feel
shortchanged by the lower-priced base G8. Although generally speaking,
the V6 G8 feels balanced, our test driver noted that in the slalom, the
suspension doesn't control body roll very well in quick transitions.
Still, the V6 G8 hustled through the cones at 63.9 mph, which is
adequate for a sporty sedan.
BMW 1 Series 135i Convertible
Comfort
Our 135i convertible's sport-tuned suspension struck an
extraordinarily agreeable balance between back road agility and ride
comfort. Even over the expansion joints of Southern California's 405
freeway, the 2008 BMW 135i refused to assault our backsides with the
"thwack, thwack, thwack" that many other sporting cars administer.

Volkswagen Jetta SE
Volkswagen Jetta loyalists tend to be a rather fanatical lot who'd
rather eat sauerkraut with warm beer for breakfast than drive something
as plebian as a Corolla or Civic. With its European personality (read:
involving drive) and upscale cabin trim and materials, it's easy to
understand this compact sedan's historical appeal. And yes, there is
that feeling of upmarket status as well — the Jetta neatly bridges the
gap between run-of-the-mill econoboxes and entry-level luxury sedans.
Lee Dodge Commack Ny : Honda Civic LX Performance
One nice attribute about the Civic was its frugalness — for the
time we spent with our 2008 Civic LX tester, we averaged 27 mpg. The
EPA gives the Civic a 25 mpg city rating and a 36 mpg highway rating,
both of which rank near the top of the economy sedan segment.
