Over the past couple of years, i started on my own "green" journey. Foreseeing the plight of fossil fuels and oil in particular, it wasn't really a hard decision.
Early adopters to renewable and alternative energy seemed to gain in the long run so I jumped in.
The first thing to do when you are going green, is to conserve energy. No use in installing the best energy producing devices if you're just going to waste it in the end.
After cutting down on as much energy I could afford to, I looked at the alternatives to powering up my home. From wind power, to solar panels, each had it's pros and cons.
In the end I decided on solar panels with some supplemental wind power to boot.
Although going completely off-grid is still a few years away, I have never regretted my decision to going green and am looking forward to the day I unplug from the power company.
