Cosmetic Surgery and Europe: Striving for Homogeneity

Apparently, South Americans that live in Europe undergo cosmetic surgery to achieve a more European look, says Gadling.com.

As overseas cosmetic surgery retreats are getting more popular, Western and American plastic surgeons should seriously consider opening up aggressive Hispanic marketing campaigns in order to route business into their practice - earning international reputability and favorable exchange rates.

What would an effective hispanic marketing campaign entail?

Your content written in Spanish is not enough. Think of a campaign that empathizes entirely with a different culture and one that uses the idioms and nuances of their langauge in order to market your products and/or services.

An Open Window for Marketing Opportunities

Recently a report from Long Beach's Press Telegram stated that more and more cosmetic surgery patients are taking larger block of time off between doctor visits to compare the prices and service offerings of other cosmetic surgery practices.

While one may want to blame the economy for such activity, some rather should thank it.

Think about it. This is your chance if this said patient was not your incumbent, to grab a hold of a new population of clients if your localized marketing tactics is up to snuff.

How visibile is your firm on the Internet for given local keywords?

With more and more people using the Internet to gain insight into products and services, it seems that effective online marketing is the key for any successful cosmetic surgery practice.

When is a Trend a Scam?

One must have a discerning eye to spot unethical marketing attempts in today's world.

Now, I am not entirely sure if what follows is bogus, however, it is food for thought for those interested in online marketing, popular celebrity figures or cosmetic surgery:

A new trend was recently announced in an online press release that touted shoulder liposuction as the new 'in'. Patients, they say, are trying to achieve the skinny shoulder look like celebrities such as Madonna and Kiera Knightley.

When questioned, a popular plastic surgeon in California said that using his past consulations (that number in the thousands) as a heuristic, not one patient has ever inquired about shoulder liposuction, nor does he expect to hear such requests in the near future.

What do we make of such headlines then?

Is this the marketing company of a spot-reducing surgeon playing games? Is this the press trying to make the general public feel more self-conscious about their upper body? Or is it the PR reps of popular celebrities trying to make their clients seems all the more desirable?

Who is Earning Money In Our Economy?

Recently Artes Medical posted a $1.1 million increase in revenue for the last fiscal quarter.

Now, what Artes is vested in is medical aesthetics - so plastic and cosmetic surgeons take note.

You see, such a report shows that even in our current economic recession, there is widespread demand for cosmetic surgery - especially for the products associated with cosmetic procedures. This is what Artes deals in, namely noninvasive products and injectable treatments.

Bottom line is that if companies like Artes are seeing exanding sales numbers and are able to drive millions of dollars of their revenue back into advertising - it shows that the general public is still calling for cosmetic surgery, no matter the contents of their checkbook.

If you as a plastic surgeon are not receiving new patient inquires and are blaming the economy, chances are that the surgeon down the block may have taken some of your business.

Either hire a marketing company that deals in the online forum, fire your current one, or begin thinking on what will be the saving grace of your practice.

The Internet-TV Connection: Looking Towards the Future

I honestly doubt that there will ever be a time when American families trade the old living room television set for a broadband connection and an IBM.

Having both? Sure, it's been like that for over a decade now, but the chances that Internet will replace TV entirely are rather slim.

Instead, look for the Internet and TV to become integrated beyond their traditional recognition. With new technologies being worked on at manufacturing firms like Sony, we will soon see television sets that will be able to stream content from online sources in a seamless fashion.

The news on channel seven. YouTube's latest viral video on thirty-five.

It'll happen.

With news of just about half of all Internet users turning to search engines at least once a day, business owners should find that having an active search engine optimization campaign is integral to remain competitive in their respective industries.

As of now, just cleaning up your Web site and adding, original unique content on a regular basis won't get you very far - but it will at least set you apart from the pack and keep you primed for frequent, aggressive Internet marketing endeavors.

Keep Pace in Your Industry By Utilizing a Blog

Not a week goes by where I don't espouse the virtues of corporate blogging somewhere on the Internet.

Frankly, it's a topic that I blog about probably once a week at our plastic surgery marketing blog, cosmeticSEO.com.

See, when you employ a blogging platform or any such rapid content development system on your Web site, what you are essentially doing is increasing your online visibility by invaluable amounts with each post. Research a few high volume industry specific keywords every now and then and your blog will be a shining beacon for your corporation and the Web browsers searching for expert information surrounding your industry.

Blogging is simple, but in no means is it easy. Just having the fortitude and tenacity to write on a regular basis (even when you have no readership) is a daunting task. Also, even though you can simply install a quick and dirty blogging platform on your domain in minutes, one must be technically savvy enough to know where such installations spew duplicate content and the like - little things that will mar your Web presence and visiblity if not taken into account.

What follows is an aggregate of posts that discuss blogging for corporations and the strategies you can employ when you feel it is time to start integrating rapid publishing into your online advertising campaign.

Even though these articles speak about the cosmetic surgrey industry (as they originated at cosmeticSEO.com), the advice herein can be applied to just about any market:

Cosmetic Surgery Still On the Rise? No Surprise.

It is without doubt that plastic surgery remains a cornerstone of our rather vain society. What's more is that it's popularity is ever-increasing on the global scale.

Across the Atlantic, for instance, there has been a 35% increase in the acceptance of cosmetic surgery in the past year. Popular procedures in Europe tend to follow suit with those in America, with breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and liposuction leading the most sought after treatments.

What this means for surgeons in America is that it's a ripe time to conduct overseas marketing campaigns.

As the American economy continues to fall while the English pound and the Euro continue to climb, it may be in cosmetic surgeons' best interest to offer special travel packages to our neighbors across the pond.

Building SEO and Internet Marketing Campaigns

When entering into a service contract for seach engine optimization and Internet marketing, one has to know the ins-and-outs of their selected service package. A divide between you contract and your expectations can wreak havoc on your budget and your business relationships.

For example, ask yourself these questions:

Is Web site design and/or redesign covered in this cost? What about custom programming to avoid duplicate content and to remap URLs?

Who will be responsible for writing the content for your new campaign? Will it be your PR department or the SEO firm? Will they be working together to integrate your newly discovered keywords in a clear, cohesive manner?

There are many questions one must ask in order to feel confident and comfortable with ones chosen online marketing agency.

At cosmeticSEO.com, we recently just launched our Build Your Marketing Campaign section of our Web site, which lets users - mainly specialized physicians and cosmetic surgeons - browse through a three-tiered SEO package offering. Once they read through our detailed service descriptions and choose from either basic, advanced, premium or custom search engine optimization packages, they can browse our hand-coded, custom designed medical Web templates or request a new Web site design and construction for their selected marketing package.

Even if you are not in an industry where cosmetic surgery marketing appeals to you, feel free to take a look at our available SEO packages in order to get an idea for what an ethical and effective online marketing firm can do for your company.
