Silence is Golden When Dealing with Reputation Management

This blog is written by a member of our blogging community and expresses that member's views alone.

We see it all. Just like political debates, supporters (or in yourreputation’s case, offenders) are quick to call your business or lawfirm names but not so quick to produce any evidence. So what do you? Doyou join the blog that has negative information and set the recordstraight? Call the client an ignorant dead weight that paid their billslate or not at all? Or intelligibly dispute the matter with facts?

Nope. You stay quiet. Adding inconvenient content like“facts” or “truth” will only complicate the matter because then, youare starting a debate. A debate that will keep adding content to theweb which is relevant to the bad press.

The best strategy is to do a little online reputation managementrun around the issue. Rather than confronting the issue, its best toignore it and just push positive content on the web no relevant to theaccusation.

Once you start disputing, you give credibility to the claim.
