Other states that require doctors to report motorists with medical
conditions that might affect their driving are California, New Jersey,
Delaware, Oregon and Nevada. All other states and the District of
Columbia permit physicians to submit such reports.
Medical ethicists and privacy experts say that such laws discourage
patients from giving their doctors information important for proper
diagnosis and treatment. Thus these laws threaten the health and life
of patients.
The highlight of the plan is the phone consultation. A Prepaid
legal member can call the law firm and speak to an attorney over the
phone about any type of legal matter he or she has a question on. It
doesn't matter whether the issue deals with landlord tenant law, estate
matters, consumer law, real estate or more, the member can have an
attorney that specializes in that area of law to provide assistance.
Many challenges that we face could easily be avoided or minimized if we
were able to speak to an attorney about them. However, at the typical
rates of $200, $300, even $400 an hour, phone consultation with
attorney's is simply out of the budget of the average person.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that not all legal issues can
be resolved with a simple phone consultation. In many cases, the issue
is complexed enough where you actually have to hire an attorney to deal
with that issue. If that happens, you will typically have to pay the
high hourly rates that attorneys charge even if you are a Prepaid Legal
member. However, with Pre-Paid Legal you at least get a 25% discount.
So what type of attorney do you get for $26 or less a month? Did he
pass the bar? Is he at the bar? Is he behind bars? What type of doctor
do you get for your $20 co-payment? The service that Prepaid Legal
offers is very similar to the service that major medical insurance
offers. The difference is that while major medical deals with health
issues, Prepaid Legal deals with legal issues.

have argued that the machine’s thermometers, which must be absolutely
accurate for accurate readings, weren’t properly maintained, were
inaccurate, and therefore led to false readings. To reduce this
problem, the state adopted regulations requiring periodic verification
of the machines’ thermometers. However, the state hasn’t followed its
own rules for many years, if ever. One prosecutor complained that “the
rules have become our own worst enemy.”

encourages states to test for drugs after a crash. Currently, very few
states ever test for illegal drugs under any circumstances.
It appears that very few illegal drug users are ever apprehended
for driving while drugged. It’s a virtually ignored problem so it’s
understandable that teenagers think driving while drugged is safer than
driving while drunk.
