Is the shower or bathroom one of your most productive places in terms of idea generation? Never sure how to best capture new concepts? Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools recommends using a dive slate, a small sheet of sturdy white plastic coupled with a small pencil.
Writes Cool Tools contributor Vincent Crisci, "They're cheap (around $5--$6), available on the net at various dive shops, fit nicely behind the soap holder or hung in the shower and work well; they're meant to be written on underwater by divers, so unless you shower under Niagara Falls, your thought will be captured until you erase it."

As I said earlier, you have to be prepared for an idea to hit you anywhere, any time. I also keep a Fisher Space Pen in the drawer next to my bed so that I can capture ideas while lying down in bed and holding my Daytimer up above my head (both because I am lazy and because I don't want to disturb my wife).

Similarly, I have a pen that might have come from Sharper Image or Brookstone (it was a gift) with a small LED at the writing end which goes on when you twist the pen's body. It's perfect for those late-night ideas (or to-do's) when you don't want to get up or even turn on the light.
