The proliferation of buzzwords in meetings has gotten to the point where covert games of Buzzword Bingo are springing up. The game works like this: Create a 5 column X 5 row grid using the letters that spell Bingo across the top and number the rows 1 – 5. Place your favorite buzzwords in each box. Using “delighting customers” in the center box increases the likelihood that you’ll achieve Bingo.
Surreptitiously bring your Bingo card to any corporate meeting where you suspect that buzzwords will be flying. As presenters use these words or phrases in the meeting, X the appropriate box. Five Xs in a row – whether horizontally, vertically or diagonally results in Bingo. And when Bingo is shouted, meeting is OVER!
This game can also be played in sales meetings where suppliers are making PowerPoint presentations about their goods and services. The use of a PowerPoint increases the likelihood of Bingo.
