Interior Design and Special Features

Inside the cabin, the 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 V8 is outfitted like
a true luxury sedan. Spacious, richly appointed and fully decked out
with a comprehensive list of convenience features, this Hyundai looks
and feels very much like a top-line Lexus. The seats are as comfortable
as they appear, although they lack the kind of firm, highly bolstered
Germanic treatment a sport sedan enthusiast might enjoy. The instrument
panel's white-on-black electroluminescent gauges look like they came
straight out of a Lexus.

The soft curves of the sweeping dashboard are complemented by an
elegantly adorned center stack with numerous climate and audio
controls, many of which have more driver-friendly counterparts either
on the steering wheel or by the multimedia controller on the center
console. Standard on the V8 model (and optional on the V6) is real
leather trim that adorns the dash and door panels.

The trunk offers a capacity of 15.9 cubic feet, and although the rear seat does not fold down, there is a pass-through feature.

2009 Honda Fit Vehicle Overview

Introduction

On a weekly basis, we auto writer types in the office get weekly
reports about what cars are most popular in terms of searches on our
site. And for much of 2008, we were amused by reports for "Inside
Line," our dedicated car enthusiast site. One phrase kept coming in as
number one. It wasn't one of the expected ones like, "Nissan GT-R,"
"Bitchin' Camaro" or even "Danica Patrick." It was, believe it or not,
"2009 Honda Fit."

Sure, we can understand why "normal" car shoppers would be
interested in the Fit. This entry-level model, introduced just a couple
years ago, quickly became a hit thanks to its high fuel mileage,
innovative interior and nimble handling. But car junkies? Either the
Fit has suddenly become cooler than a GT-R, or real-world,
$4-dollar-a-gallon gas and everyday practicality have trumped supercar
daydreams.

Powertrains and Performance

The 2009 Dodge Sprinter Cargo is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel
V6 that generates 154 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This
engine is capable of fuel economy in the mid-20s, which is dramatically
better than that of its competition. The only available transmission is
a five-speed automatic with an automanual mode. Properly equipped, the
Sprinter Cargo can tow 5,000 pounds, and its maximum payload ratings
range from 3,155 pounds (2500 extended length high roof) to 5,649
pounds (3500 regular length standard roof).

Safety

All 2009 Dodge Sprinter Cargo vans come standard with antilock disc
brakes and stability control. Optional safety equipment includes
front-seat side and head curtain airbags, front and rear parking
sensors and a rear parking camera.

Interior Design and Special Features

Other than the Dodge logo on the steering wheel, the Sprinter's
interior is pretty much identical to that of the Mercedes-Benz version
sold around the world. Build quality is notably better than in other
full-size vans, not to mention most other Dodge products. A
tilt/telescoping steering column and four different front-seat styles
with multiple adjustments ensure ample comfort, while the Sprinter's
modern control layout makes it feel more like a midsize SUV than a
utilitarian van.

With so many body styles and a maximum 600 cubic feet of available
cargo space, the Sprinter Cargo is the most versatile work van on the
market. Its High Roof and Mega Roof options -- 76 and 84 inches,
respectively -- enable the Sprinter Cargo to be used as a work space
where passengers can walk upright. Moreover, the Sprinter Cargo boasts
rear doors that open to 270 degrees for ease of access, and its low
step-in height and optional dual sliding doors make your job even
easier. There are numerous available full-width partitions that
separate the cabin from the cargo area, including a full metal
partition, fixed and sliding windows, sliding doors and a C-pillar
partition that allows an extra row of seats.

Driving Impressions

With its huge windshield and truncated front end, the 2009 Dodge
Sprinter Cargo does a pretty fair impression of a delivery truck from
behind the wheel. And at up to 23 feet long and 10 feet high, it could
be one, too. But a reasonably carlike driving position and respectable
handling help make the Sprinter feel manageable around town. Quite
simply, this is the easiest and least cumbersome full-size cargo van to
drive. Around town, the turbodiesel engine offers satisfactory thrust
-- it's only on the highway that its power deficit becomes glaringly
apparent.

Interior Design and Special Features

Although the overall design is fairly handsome, the H3T's rather
plain interior doesn't quite match its macho exterior. Build quality is
solid, but the H3T's competitors utilize nicer materials. Also, stereo
and climate interfaces aren't as user-friendly as those found in other
GM vehicles. Still, the versions with the leather seating have an
attractive two-tone color scheme along with contrasting piping on the
seats, which spruces things up.

The seats are comfortable, though many drivers may take issue with
the high beltline and low-profile window design, as they lead to lousy
outward visibility. Rear-seat passengers enjoy ample legroom and decent
support, but taller folks may find themselves uncomfortably close to
the roof. The cargo box is about 5 feet long; though this is about the
same as the offerings from the H3T's chief rivals, they typically offer
6-foot boxes as well.
