This series has a talented core of actors and actresses. The center of the show is Miley Cyrus--the charming and popular Hannah Montana during the night and the ordinary Miley Stewart during the day. Miley Cyrus was actually refused the role of Lilly Truscott during the initial auditions for the show. Later on, sensing something about her potential for the main role, she was recalled and selected as Hannah.
Miley Stewart's dad is also the Miley Cyrus' real life father, Billy Ray Cyrus. His role in the series is complicated by her daughter's dual life. He acts both as father during the day and manager to Hannah during the night.
