ADHD and Stress: Is There a Link?
It's not surprising that anyone dealing with ADHD might also have to deal with stress. ADHD symptoms, such as having trouble focusing attention or hyperactivity, can lead to frustration, a sure set-up for stress. ADHD may also be accompanied by other mental health conditions -- conditions that are also linked to stress:
* Depression
* Negative thoughts
* Feeling anxious
* Having trouble sleeping
Which is the cause and which is the result? No one really knows for sure. But that doesn't mean you can't take steps now to address stress in the midst of dealing with ADHD.
At any one time, about 90% of the hair on a person's scalp is growing. Each follicle has its own life cycle that can be influenced by age, disease, and a wide variety of other factors. This life cycle is divided into three phases:
* Anagen -- active hair growth. Lasts between two to six years.
* Catagen -- transitional. Lasts two to three weeks.
* Telogen -- resting phase. At the end of the resting phase (two to three months) the hair is shed and a new hair replaces it and the growing cycle starts again.
