The question of how much does
a web site cost is by far and away one of the most common questions any
designer, freelancer or studio is asked on a regular basis. No doubt
about it.
And as much as we designers would like to say well this one in aisle
4 is $299 and the ones in aisle 9 are $10,000, it just doesn’t work
that way.
For a moment imagine a web design project much in the same way you would build a house.
Web site competition
You have competition, we all do. And more than likely they’re on the
web. Gonink first wants to look at that competition and see what they
do good and what they aren’t so good at. And then we want to make sure
we separate you from them. This really is no different than making sure
your flower bed is more vibrant and full than the Jones’ next door. Or
your swimming pool is cleaner and more inviting to the neighborhood
kids.
Web hosting & domain names
Think of your web hosting as the neighborhood where you want your
web site (house) to reside. And then think of your domain name as the
actual street address.
Sketching out the project
When building a house you’re going to see architectural plans,
interior designs and maybe even a few schematics on how the wiring and
plumbing will work. Well, this isn’t all that far from how we sketch
our your project. We want to look at the navigation and make sure your
visitors can go from page to page easily, much in the same way you
would want guests to be able to move freely throughout the house.
Building the web site
You now know how to look better than the Jones’, you have the
neighborhood and street address and the planning is complete. It’s time
to break ground and start putting up some walls. And this is very
similar to us building your web project. We’re taking the colors, the
size, the routes (navigation) and laying it all out for a finished
project. One that soon you’ll be moving in to and can be more than
proud to call home.
So as you can see, the cost of a web site is entirely dependent on
how big the “house” is and what kind of amentities it might have. If we
have you curious, why not contact gonink to get a quote today? You just might be surprised at how cost-effective it really is.
