BMW of Orland Park in Chicago announced a July credit option for BMW diesel models.  The new BMW Advanced Diesel models will qualify for the I.R.S. Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit. The tax credit is offered by the I.R.S. to promote the purchase of Advanced Lean Burn Technology vehicles that help reduce emissions.   BMW of Orland Park will offer a credit on the X5 xDrive35d of $1,800 and a credit of $900 on the 335d.

Chicago BMW buyers who are eligible for a Cash for Clunkers voucher could up the credit to over $6,000, with an added $4,500 voucher if they trade in their old clunker for the diesel car purchase.

The provisional fuel economy ratings of the 335d are 23mpg city and 33mpg highway. In the substantially heavier X5 the numbers drop to 19/25.  Both would qualify Chicago BMW buyers for a Cash for Clunkers voucher, the amount of the voucher would depend on the type of trade in and fuel economy.

The history of BMW diesel engines dates back to 1983 when the BMW 524td was introduced as the fastest diesel in the world. Since then, BMW has spent 25 years developing advanced diesel technology. Today's BMW Diesels are characterized by dramatically improved power and performance, fuel consumption and emissions levels.

The 335d offers drivers acceleration from 0–62 mph in 6.2 seconds, an incredibly thrilling experience for any auto enthusiast.  Similarly, the BMW X5 xDrive35d rivals with acceleration speeds from 0–62 mph in just 7.2 seconds.

Chicago BMW buyers are encouraged to visit BMW of Orland Park to test drive the diesel models and experience the thrilling new technology.
