GiammonaFunding continues to be a major barrier in the delivery of
programming on our area reservations and consequently an impediment to improving
the momentum required to significantly impact unemployment, poverty and the
economy.

Approval of such a grant would have a positive immediate impact
on the economy of northern Minnesota. The grant will work hand in hand with the
many other initiatives/collaborations that the Indian Nations and colleges are
championing.

Potlatch Corporation is one of the country’s oldest major forest
products companies. Three separate companies, each of which started acquiring
timber in Idaho early in the century, joined in 1931, to form Potlatch Forests,
Inc. Potlatch Lumber Company, incorporated in 1903, with Frederick Weyerhaeuser
as a founder and began to produce lumber in 1908.
