New Features Added to the 2010 Honda CR-V Arrives in Miami

New features and upgrades have been added to the improved 2010 Honda CR-V including interior and exterior features, better fuel economy, and more power. Miami drivers will appreciate the new exterior improvements and styles added on the CR-V. Exterior styling enhancements include a freshened front fascia with a new grille and bumper design, a re-sculpted hood, and a new rear bumper shape. A 10-spoke alloy wheel design, standard on CR-V EX and EX-L, replaces the previous 7-spoke alloy wheel design. New interior features include a BlueTooth Handsfree Link, auto on and off headlights, and wider armrests on the front seats. Wide ranges of interior updates for 2010 include modifications to the radio functionality and control layout, the introduction of new seat fabric textures and an upgraded interior door handle design with a rubberized grip handle.

For 2010, power and efficiency improvements result from the engine's compression ratio increasing to 10:5:1 from 9.7:1, fuel injectors with a finer spray pattern, larger intake valves, spark plugs with extended electrodes, friction-reducing piston rings, higher-precision timing sensor and a higher flow-rate exhaust system. The CR-V comes standard with an electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission that uses an active lockup torque converter. Wide overall ratios help maximize acceleration in gears one through four and optimize fuel economy in its overdrive fifth gear.

The New 2010 Honda CR-V Hits Miami Streets

The New 2010 CR-V

Honda put its latest edition of the CR-V on sale this week, having had a few tweaks that might strain your eyes to notice.

So, for instance, a 10-spoke alloy wheel replaces a seven-spoke wheel. The compact SUV gets a new Bluetooth system inside. There are one-inch wider center armrests on the front seats. The 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine gets 14 more horsepower, now up to 180, and there's a 1 mile per gallon improvement. Mileage is now 21 mpg, 28 mpg highway.

Bowled over yet? Okay, well, the front end will look a little different. There's a freshened front fascia with a new grille and a different front and rear bumper. Not impressed? Well get this: the headlights turn themselves on or off -- automatically.

"The CR-V provides many of the favorable aspects of a car and an SUV in a stylish, yet highly functional and capable vehicle," said Vicki Poponi, a Honda assistant vice president. "For 2010, the CR-V represents an even better value with significant upgrades throughout the vehicle."

Prices start at $21,545 for a base-level version with a five-speed automatic transmission.

For more information on how to get your own 2010 CR-V, visit Brickell Honda of Miami online at http://www.brickellhonda.com

News on the Honda Crosstour Reaches Miami

Honda’s Latest American Car

We have written before about the misperception of Honda as a “Japanese” car, when in fact, they are truly representatives of globalization at is greatest. Honda goes through the intricate yet refined Japanese design process and tailors its cars to each market. The parts are sourced from various locations worldwide, and in the case of the United States, the parts are then shipped here and put together in various plants throughout the country.

In the case of the Accord, CR-V, and Element, all roads lead to various plants in Ohio, where engines and transmissions are assembled separately, and then are put together with the bodies of their respective cars. Since these are assembled in Ohio, then it only makes sense that Honda’s new crossover would be assembled there too.

In case you do not know which crossover I’m referring to, I’m talking about the new Accord Crosstour, which is really a cross between the three vehicles mentioned above. Honda of America has made new announcements relating to this exciting new release almost every day, and they just announced that the new Crosstour will be built in Ohio in the same plant as the CR-V and Element, which is quite appropriate, considering the design of the car itself.

For more information on how to get YOUR Crosstour fresh off the assembly line, go to BrickellHondaDirect.com, or go to Brickell Honda of Miami.

Miami Dealerships Welcome the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid

Miami drivers know how important safety and reliability are when searching for a car. What about when you combine safety, reliability and style? This is what you will find in the all-new 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid. This 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan is available in 4 trims, each catering to different Miami styles and tastes. The new Honda Civic closest competitors are the Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, the Mitsubishi Gallant, and the Buick Century. Yet it is safe to say that none of these compare to the ride and reliability you get from the Honda Civic Hybrid.

Being one of the most economical cars in the market, the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid spares no flaws. Honda has taken the technology pioneered in the Insight and improved on it. It uses a small 1.3-liter, four-cylinder gas engine of 85 horsepower assisted by a 13-horsepower electric motor. When the driver backs off the throttle or hits the brakes, the energy that is usually wasted is captured in a bank of batteries mounted behind the rear passenger seat.

New safety features added to the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid are:

•    Driver Airbag With Dual Stage Deployment
•    Passenger Airbag With Dual Stage Deployment
•    Vehicle Anti-Theft Via Engine Immobilized
•    Front and Rear Outboard 3-Point Seatbelts
•    Rear 3-Point Center Seatbelt
•    Front Pretension
•    L A T C H
•    Trunk Anti-Trap Device
•    Child Safety Door Locks Located On Rear Doors
•    Panic Button
•    Power Window Lockout
•    Front and Rear Passenger Automatic Locking Retractors
•    Front Seatbelt Height Adjusters
•    Seat Mounted Front Side Airbags
•    Passenger Airbag Cutoff Sensor

New Special Features Available on the 2010 Honda Accord

2010 Honda Accord adds new features (fromCNET.com)

The 2010 Honda Accord lineup is getting a features upgrade on certain models with an expanded application of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink to vehicles equipped with leather seating surfaces (previously exclusive to navigation-equipped models) and new rear-seat ventilation ducts on Accord Sedan EX and EX-L models for more-direct rear passenger airflow. Subtle modifications include graphically optimized climate control buttons and the addition of a trunk roof lining on Accord EX models.

Other available features include the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Activation and XM Radio2. The front seats are designed to provide generous lateral support and complement the Accord's sporty side. The fold-down, lockable rear seatback increases cargo-carrying versatility and also includes a lockable pass-through for long items like snow skis.

Available engine choices include a V-6 and a four-cylinder engine. The 3.5-liter, 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V-6 engine produces 271 horsepower and takes advantage of variable cylinder management (VCM) technology that can deactivate up to half of the cylinders while cruising to improve fuel economy. The VCM system contributes to an EPA city/highway fuel economy rating of 19/29 miles per gallon in the Accord Sedan V-6.

For safety, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) is an exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal crashes. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Three audio systems are available all with MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback capability and an auxiliary input jack. The standard system provides a single-disc CD player, six speakers, and 160 watts of power. A radio data system (RDS) displays information broadcast by participating radio stations that often includes call letters, station type (searchable by genre) and programming information. Steering wheel audio controls come standard on every Accord. The Accord Sedan EX and Coupe LX-S add a six-disc in-dash changer.

Popular Honda Models in Miami

USDOT (U.S. Department of Transportation) released results of the CARS (better known as “Cash for Clunkers”) program Wednesday, saying 690,114 new cars were sold along with $2.88 billion in rebate applications submitted through the $3 billion initiative.

California led the nation with $326.8 million in requests for federal rebates, followed by Texas with $183.8 million and New York with $156.3 million.
