Barnhart, Inc. has completed two barracks renovations at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot (MCRD) for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest Division.
Renovations were completed to barracks 554 and 555. Each project measured just over 107,000 square feet over three stories and required demolition and rebuilding of walls, ceilings, roofing, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as modifications to the exterior façade to change architectural style. The buildings were renovated on an aggressive schedule, which was driven by the anticipated arrival of new Marine Corps recruits. The renovations took place on an occupied Marine training and recruiting center. Construction cost of each facility was $8.8 million.
Barnhart team members on the projects included David Roach, David Purtee, Shawn Fisher, Dave Christensen, Joe Mansour, Jeanne Bogard and Elaine Michaels.
