Does Your Manager Have Values?

OK, I guess values are not very interesting.  Just like mission, vision.  They end up in a drawer some where not to be touched or re-visited and often companies do not walk the walk so why bother.  I tell you why I bother to have values.... I believe in them, I philosophize about them, I believe they are the soul of your organization and if your organization is maneuvering through this complicated world without being grounded in some kind of core values I pity the employee who spends their day trying to figure out how to do the right thing in this organization.  What is the “right thing” without clear values to guide you?Values do not have to be the 10 commandments; they can be fun and reflect the culture of your organization.  I have a client who calls their values their Chi.  Does your manager have values?  Do you wish he or she did and what would that look like?  Do your values align with your manager’s values?  Is it important to you?

Living your core values is key in driving them into your company. At Spheric we redefined them as a company to better align them all around and let them be a true representation of the company. We describe why and how we did this here. http://blogs.spheric.ca/afoster/defining-your-companies-values
