Addicting games: core of online gaming industry
The birth of Internet spelled the end for boredom. Well, that statement may sound sweeping but there is a large fraction of Earth's population that use the web to find something useful and interesting and thus reducing boredom in the world. With millions of Internet users around the world, the web's usefulness cannot be measured. It is used to find jobs, locate and communicate with friends, buy and sell items, and even establish networks of hospitals to save lives. And, of course, playing games online! Almost everyone that uses the Internet also played Internet games.
There is however a large number of people who are not only playing games online; they are playing addicting games online! So what makes a game addicting? A good question with an obvious answer though. Games proliferating the Internet today are almost portrayals of reality. With state-the-art graphics and audio capabilities, most computers nowadays can give you a dazzlingly realistic environment. That means that when you play, say, a first person shooter game, the view you are faced with almost exactly duplicates the real world where that game is patterned after. You can run, fly, kick, throw, or transform objects at will. You are given countless possibilities.
Games today have also creative plots and twists and would really demand thinking and analytical skills. No games today are designed for dumbos...well, at least, most of them are. Genres of games are flooding the market so you will be assured to find your personal favorite--if you have the time to look given the large number of games available. Still, many users are still looking for more. The gaming industry creates games everyday to satisfy the insatiable demand. It has therefore, created a mutual cycle beneficial for all parties. Games are made addicting because users hunger for them. Simple.
