The Black Crowes are an American, blues-oriented, hard rock jam band.  The group was formed in 1984 out of Atlanta, Grorgia.  The creators and driving force behind the band has always been the two brothers Rich and Chris Robinson.  The Black Crowes have shuffled through several band members over the years, but the present day roster consists of Rich and Chris Robinson, Steve Gorman, Sven Pipien, Adam McDougall and Luther Dickinson on.   

In 1990, The Black Crowes released their first album “Shake Your Money Maker.”  The debut album received multi-platinum certifications and over the years has sold over three million copies.  Some of their hit songs on the album include: “She Talks To Angels,” Hard To Handle and ” Twice As Hard.”  One year later, the bands rendition of Otis Reddings “Hard To Handle” and their popular song “She Talks To Angels,” both broke Top 30 on the pop-charts.   That same year, the band became even more recognized through the eyes of Rolling Stones Magazine readers, who named The Black Crowes as ‘Best New American Band.’

The Black Crowes had a successful career and became one of the most well known rock groups in the country, but in 2002, the band decided it would be best for them to take a ‘Hiatus.’  Throughout the next three years, a small number of the band members would re-unite to perform at award ceremonies or small venues.  

In 2007, The Black Crowes released a double disc live album titled “Live At The Roxy,” which featured both old and new songs.  Two years later, The Black Crowes released an additional two disc live album titled “Warpaint Live.”  The first disc featured the “Warpaint” album in its entirety, and the second disc was a mix of classic and cover music.

Over the course of their career, The Black Crowes have toured with many famous artists some of which include; Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead and Neil Young. Most recently, May 2009, Chris Robinson announced that a new album, “ Before The Frost, Until The Freeze,” will be in stores in September 2009.
