MacSpeech Dictate
Because I belong to the generation over 50 years old -- I did not have access to personal computers, FedEx, voicemail, e-mail, Xerox, and the Internet was in no one's imagination back in 1975. Nevertheless the world has changed. Am dictating this blog by use of MacSpeech Dictate, which is an incredible new program I've discovered after all these years of not being able to type. I have found the accuracy to be almost 100% -- except for proper names. The last couple years I have made a determined effort learn as much as possible about the emerging technology that unfortunately was not present when I entered the workforce. I hope to update this blog daily with little tidbits of information that I have garnered over the last year or so that have amazed me and frankly enabled me to enter the 21st century in a very small way on the technology side. I hope to some extent you found this personal journey interesting and any comments or criticisms or suggestions would be appreciated. E. W. J.
