Scribd Looks to be The YouTube of Documents | InternetNews Realtime IT News
Now this looks interesting; could I do a presentation at a client's office using this tool if I had internet access, I wonder?
And if it's Flash-based, how hard would it be to for a developer to add form completion functionality? (am I thinking about an Adobe Quicksilver "overlay" here? hmm...)
I guess I'll have to find the time to kick the tires on this application; it sounds too good to be true if it accepts uploads in nearly any format.

Information about programs that are known to experience a loss of functionality when they run on a Windows Vista Service Pack 1-based computer
Many micro businesses rely on Zone Alarm or Trend Micro brand security software, including my own. Imagine my dismay to see these on the list of programs affected by the first Service Pack for Microsoft's Vista operating system. Fortunately both softwares have issued versions supported under Vista, but the hassle factor of upgrading to these new versions cuts into a micro business owner's billable time.
In my case, I will have to upgrade the software on 2 out of 8 computers, and on a number of client computers that I support. I'm even more reluctant to migrate the rest of my systems to Vista from Windows XP as I'd lose a chunk of time performing both the migration and software upgrades. The only upside is that I may have more billable hours from clients who will pay me to do ensure their software is compatible with Vista -- but at the end of the day, did they get more value for the money?

Getting Healthy With Google - Google Health Pilot Program - ReadWriteWeb
This has a lot of promise; so much of the cost of health care is bound up in records management that any possible improvement is a good thing. Naturally the downside is privacy and data security. Will this be an enterprise-based system, wherein records from a particular entity are retained in servers under the physical control of a health care provider? Or will Google become the main repository?
Just as interesting as the post on this topic at ReadWriteWeb are the comments; they run the full spectrum of reaction just in the first handful of shared perspectives.

New trend -- or proof that competitive pressure from other communications providers is forcing the telecoms to revisit their business models.

Uh-oh -- so much for internet-enabling all the devices in the house.
